- Get all your ingredients together:2 cups of flour, 2 cups of water, 1 cup of salt, food coloring or kool-aid (optional) but makes fun colors , 2 tbsp's oil, 4 tbsp's cream of tartar (this stops the dough from cracking and makes it stretchy). Items used: pot, wooden spoon, whisk, big mixing bowl, measuring cups and spoons.
- Mix the dry ingredients together.
- Add wet ingredients. Mix till smooth and color desired.
- Add ingredients slowly to pot and put over medium heat.
- Stir constantly until the dough feels like stiff, smooth, mashed potatoes. At this point, take it off the stove. Once it has cooled. Knead it until it is blended smoothly.
- Play with your dough and have lots of FUN!!!!
- Store the dough in an airtight container, like a Ziploc® bag or Tupperware*.
