Eating to live not living to eat

As some of you may have already heard, I have major food issues going on. I had been really not feeling well for years and through countless medical appointments and the usual pokes and probes, I had been told that there was nothing wrong with me and it was all in my imagination and that I was fat because of not eating well. I was overly stressed, or having issues with Irritated Bowels Syndrome or anxiety. When the family was blessed with Christopher, and Iris had to learn to deal with all of his allergies, plus with the assistance/persistence of numerous pushes and threats from my loving sisters, I finally went to see an allergist. I had a skin allergy test and found that I am allergic to every grain known to man with numerous secondary "food intolerance's to dairy, citrus, and other foods. I also was informed that if you eat a food and feel weird, then you probably cannot tolerate it, no matter if it is a tingle or tickle. In later years or the next episode, that can become a full blown shut down of your body.

Basically, the healthier I was trying to eat, whole wheat and brown rice, the more I was intoxicating my body to the point that I was gaining weight like crazy. If you have major allergies or intolerance's to food, you will not successfully manage your weight until you remove the allergens from you're diet. I know, its weird but even though I am overweight, I was basically starving. My symptoms included skin rashes, anemia, feeling lethargic, major stomach issues, itchiness, depression, migraines, sinus infections, wheezing, coughing, bronchial infections and so on. All of which is related to allergies. There is a disease called Celiac Disease that is basically major allergies to gluten. I am going to push to be tested for this as well.

So, other than completely changing my way of eating, I should and have begun to feel better. Its only been three days now and already I can sense a difference. Allergies such as Christopher's and my own are genetic so if you believe that there is an issue, please don't wait 30 years and if your doctor is not listening to you, get a second opinion or remind the doctor that you are his/her client and paying customer. Also, please read labels because you would be amazed at the stuff they add to food. There are traces of soy in tuna and modified food starch is another word for grains.

I have thus begun to eat to live and no longer am I living to eat. I have to admit, its hard and I miss the good stuff but I want to be around for a long time. I hope this helps, please share with your friends.
